Imagine an Otter knitting!

I came home from the store on Saturday and found my DH sitting in front of the computer with yarn and knitting needles in hand teaching himself to knit! I kind of figured this was coming because he has been reading a lot of knitting websites lately and bought me a book on knitting socks and a swift and ball winder a couple of weeks ago.

So he managed the long tail cast on and is trying to learn continental. I pretty much stayed away but did encourage him to use some wool yarn with a little give - he was using acrylic. And I learned to knit right handed so it may be better that he learns in his own way. He is quite an accomplished craftsman - has made me some beautiful silver jewelry and leather sandals and moccasins. So why not knitting!

Another creative endeavor we are both involed with is landscaping our yard. Last night we had our friend over who owns a landscape company (Gardenscapes) and talked plants. I am so excited. I haven't done anything creative to our yard for over two years. We did a major interior remodeling project beginning in March 2005 and put the yard on the back burner. I will be posting pictures of the progress - hope to get started later this week.

Ha! That made me laugh. It's great that Otter wants to knit. First Amy and then Stella, now Otter. Soon you will get me knitting. :-)

I am excited to see what you guys will do in your yard.

PS: Sorry I missed you yesterday. We were driving, then came home to eat. I'll call you today.
